I’m the world’s least athletic person.
I always remember P.E. class in school being such a struggle. I was always so bad compared to everyone else even though I’m not overweight or anything.
Running was always the hardest for me. I always felt so awful when running like I just couldn’t breathe and could throw up any second.
To pass the running exam, girls had to run 1 mile/1.6km in 10 minutes.
Now that’s not a very high standard. But I’d be jumping for joy if I passed that. And I did maybe.. once!
So ever since graduating from high school, I never took up exercising again. I just thought it wasn’t for me.
Well, I recently took it up again (for the silliest reason ever which was to lose baby fat on my face).
I started running 3-4 times a week.
It was so hard at first. I only ran 10 minutes at a time.
But I’ve been getting better and better and now I’m running 15 minutes each time.
I never thought it was possible for me to run 15 minutes!
I’m still incredibly slow, but I’m making progress so I’m super duper happy.
So what’s changed?
Growing up, I was chronically dehydrated. I don’t know why, but I just didn’t seem to compute I needed to drink so much water.
In my teens, I started to develop massive headaches and even went to the doctors to check it out. But even they didn’t recommend to drink more water!
I still get these headaches now. If I don’t drink water within 1-2 hours of waking up, I’ll start to have really bad headaches that ruin the rest of the day.
I don’t remember how it came to be, but I just realized one day that I needed to drink so much more water.
I’ve noticed so many changes in my body after that.
My skin was so much smoother and radiant and I just felt so good!
I can’t believe I was depriving my body something so important for such a long time!
And since I started exercising, it’s become so much easier than I remember!
Now, every day I’m careful to drink at least the minimum amount required, 2.2L for a woman!
I wasn’t aiming to lose weight as I feel I’m pretty skinny already. But I’ve been losing weight all over my body – my legs, arms, butt (shut up!), belly, face.. EVERYWHERE!
I’ve been so happy to see the progress.
