Review: Chess Story’s Macaron et Mademoiselle Jumperskirt ♡

I’d like to review one of newest lolita dresses!

Chess Story’s Macaron et Mademoiselle Jumperskirt :kira:
Original Link

It’s a dress with a beautiful chocolate print!

The dress cost roughly $28 excluding shipping and shopping service fees.

The main reason why I got this dress was because it’s inexpensive (for a lolita dress) and it’s also suitable for casual wear!

I wore this dress to work last Friday. Not one person noticed or said anything, hahaha.Am I so boring? Or is it the people around?
But I guess it works as intended!

I tried to make the pictures below most true to life.

See the pretty border of the dress!

And the print in more detail!

DSC_5551-modThe dress has a built in mini petticoat. It’s nice to have a little fluff in your dress without it being too over exaggerated.

And the inside of the dress.

And now I will talk about the bad stuff…
Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the dress.

There’s a string to hold the belt up when you put it on, but this string broke already when I tried it on…

And the belt..is horrible quality.
It cannot stand much force. If you bend it by accident, it will break.
It’s nice that they included a belt, but I think I’d rather not have one at all when it is so cheap.
And the shape of the bow on the belt has soooo many raw edges – it’s too embarrassing to wear.

And to be honest, the chiffon of the dress is quite thin.

I’m pretty unhappy with the purchase.
I wasn’t expecting it to be amazing considering it only cost $28, but I also don’t expect it to fall apart so fast!

I haven’t washed it yet, but I heard that the print fades pretty fast after washing.

I’m sooo sad!

Chess Story is a well known brand on Taobao.
I haven’t ordered anything else from them before. I just hope the quality of their items aren’t all this bad!

Here’s a picture of me wearing it!
It’s a shame because it’s a quite cute. :aseru: :aseru: :aseru:
(Sorry messy room!)

I have to say that I would not purchase it again.

I’d rate it only 2/5. :aseru:

I hope you enjoyed this post!

P.S. Happy Friday and Happy Lunar New Year to everyone!

OMG you look so cute in that dress :kira: :kira:
I can’t believe that people in the work didn’t even notice you, you are so prety :strawberry:
And that jacket looks like perfect couple with that dress!! I tought that it won’t be so pretty without the belt, but if quality is really so low than it’s probably better to not wear it :aseru:
It’s shame that quality isn’t better, because dress is super superr cute :raburabu:

      Thank you, Tanja!

Yes, the dress is pretty cute without the belt too! It’s tight enough on the waist
Unfortunately, I have to report that the dress easily rips too… and when it does there’s white lines in the fabric. It’s really awful!

It’s been too long since I’ve last commented. T_T But anyhow, I’m still reading your posts, I just haven’t had the heart to comment though. Anyhow, you really suit those fluffy lolita dresses – you look like a doll in them. I especially liked the one you wore to the cafe to meet your friend! I know you said that you’ve lost motivation to blog lately, but keep blogging I miss these posts lol.

      Girl, where have you been?!

I’m just glad everything’s all right! I was a little worried something had happened. Why don’t you have the heart to comment?

And I really should keep blogging ;_; I don’t know what’s happened! But I will post about some good news soon!

LOL! I’ve been here silently stalking you! :P It’s just that I didn’t have the motivation to blog because I’m not particularly interesting nor am I an expert in makeup or fashion so my posts (or ideas for posts) were really ‘meh’. And because of that I went into hiding, lol. >< Once I know where I want to take my blog, I'll start blogging again!

Aw… I did think your first post was interesting!!! I definitely wish you kept up with it.

And I completely understand not feeling interesting or an expert. I really don’t think I am either. And I don’t get a lot of views on my site either. But somehow I have a few couple loyal followers, I’m not really sure how or why, haha. Maybe it’s a lack of confidence though perhaps on both our parts?

For certain posts you definitely don’t need to be an expert like review posts.. since anyone likes to read a review on something that hasn’t been reviewed whether from an “expert” or not.

I’m really rambling now, but I really completely know how you feel and I guess it’s also why I went on hiatus for awhile. Now I’ve gotten into lolita, but I’m still not an expert by any means, but at least I feel a little unique in the swarms of asian fashion blogs on the internet..
